Our Story
It all began April 28, 1952 when the organization received a charter under the name of Atlanta GSA Federal Credit Union. Originally founded to serve the federal government employees of the General Service Administration (GSA), the credit union evolved through the years to make 400+ additions to the original charter through mergers and Select Employee Group (SEG) development. In 1996, following a move from downtown to the newly constructed headquarters in Peachtree Corners, the credit union changed the name to Excel Federal Credit Union to better reflect the new brand of “service first.”
